We hire analysts, engineers, operators, writers and commercial partners who value clear scope, direct client contact and work that still runs cleanly years after handover.
01 / Structure
Practitioner-led.The people who scope the work run it. No wall between sales and delivery.
02 / Where we work
Barcelona, Sofia & Remote.Data and engineering anchored in Sofia; operations, design and commercial in Barcelona—all with remote flexibility.
03 / Applications
Direct partner review.Every application to career@16-62.co is read by a partner within five working days.
The practice
Small teams, written thinking and no theatre.
Most consultancies fail their staff in the same way they fail their clients: one group sells an ambitious timeline, a second group produces a deck of architecture diagrams, and a third group is left trying to reconcile broken source data over weekends. We built 16-62 to work differently.
Every engagement begins with a paid, fixed-scope assessment so we know what the underlying systems actually look like before committing to a build. And because a firm is more than code, we treat delivery operations, technical writing, interface design and consultative commercial work with the same rigour as engineering.
01 / Directness
No telephone game.
Analysts, engineers and operators speak directly with the client’s CFO, COO or technical lead. Nothing is filtered through layers of account handlers.
02 / Discipline
Written before built.
Whether you are defining a margin bridge, a data pipeline, a statement of work or an interface, we write down definitions and edge cases before we build.
03 / Pace
Protected focus.
We keep meetings short, protect uninterrupted blocks of deep work during European hours, and judge work by whether it holds up in production.
Open positions
Five roles open across the practice.
We hire where we have immediate client and product work across analytics, engineering, practice operations, editorial design and commercial partnerships. Select any role below to read the full specification, or write to career@16-62.co.
Showing 5 of 5 roles
Clients come to 16-62 when every system shows a different revenue figure, month-end margin bridges take four days in spreadsheets, or leadership cannot tell which product lines are releasing or consuming cash. In this role, you sit between commercial reality and analytical engineering: interviewing finance directors and COOs to pin down exact definitions, inspecting raw tables in PostgreSQL, Snowflake, BigQuery or DuckDB, and building tested SQL/dbt models and calm reporting views.
Alongside client engagements, you will contribute directly to 16-62 Labs, our self-serve diagnostic and reconciliation engine—turning the data failure patterns we uncover in the field into automated cross-system verification checks.
What you will do
Lead data profiling and metric-definition sessions with client finance, commercial and operations teams during fixed-scope assessments.
Design and build version-controlled SQL and dbt transformation models with automated reconciliation tests across ERPs, payment gateways, CRMs and general ledgers.
Build clear, high-density reporting views and weekly operational briefs where every headline figure traces back to an auditable query.
Write plain-language metric dictionaries, handover runbooks and walkthroughs so client analysts can run and extend the system independently.
Partner with the Labs engineering team to specify and test new statistical anomaly rules and gross-to-net reconciliation bridges.
What you bring
Strong command of SQL and modern analytical modelling (dbt, PostgreSQL, DuckDB, Snowflake or BigQuery) on real, imperfect transactional data.
Working fluency in how businesses keep score: invoice lifecycles, credit notes, FX translation, gross margin bridges, cohort retention and working capital.
The ability to write clear, structured English—our assessments and metric specifications are written documents, not slide decks.
Comfort speaking directly with executives and operators to resolve ambiguous business rules without hiding behind technical jargon.
Practical Python skills (pandas, Polars or pytest) for exploratory analysis and automated data validation.

To apply, email career@16-62.co with your CV and a short note describing a reporting discrepancy, data model or analytical problem you solved.
We build two kinds of technical systems: foundational data platforms (ingestion, warehouses, orchestration, access control) and narrow, supervised AI workflows (purchase-order extraction, retrieval over operational records, exception triage) that depend on clean data. Every system we deliver runs inside cloud accounts the client owns, with automated tests, explicit evaluation benchmarks and human sign-off boundaries before anything goes live.
You will split your time between client platform builds and core engineering on 16-62 Labs (Python, FastAPI, DuckDB, PostgreSQL), helping us make cross-system verification faster, stricter and easier to deploy.
What you will do
Design and provision maintainable data platforms on AWS, GCP or Azure using Terraform, containerised jobs, PostgreSQL, Snowflake or BigQuery.
Build resilient ingestion pipelines and API connectors pulling from ERPs (SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics, Odoo), accounting tools and logistics systems.
Develop applied AI workflows—structured document parsing, hybrid search/retrieval and supervised drafting—paired with repeatable evaluation datasets on real client records.
Extend the 16-62 Labs backend in Python, FastAPI and DuckDB with new database connectors, deterministic SQL checks and security guardrails.
Hand over every system with CI/CD pipelines, cost and latency monitoring, least-privilege IAM and clear operating documentation.
What you bring
Strong production engineering experience in Python and SQL, including automated testing, type safety, API design and performance tuning.
Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP or Azure), Docker, Terraform and modern data orchestration.
An engineering-first mindset toward LLMs and applied AI: you care about precision/recall benchmarks, strict schema validation, latency, unit cost and failure handling rather than demos.
Discipline around security, credential management, encryption and European data privacy standards.
Calm written and verbal communication when pairing with client engineers during handover.

To apply, email career@16-62.co with your CV, GitHub or code sample if public, and a short note on a production system you built and handed over.
16-62 sells fixed-scope assessments and phased builds with clear deliverables and agreed prices. That promise only holds when scoping, onboarding, contracting, scheduling and client communication are run with quiet precision. This is a central non-technical role for an experienced delivery or operations manager who takes pride in making a specialist practice run cleanly.
Working directly alongside the partners from our Barcelona practice (with remote flexibility), you will guide client engagements from statement of work through technical onboarding and final handover, while managing the commercial and administrative cadence of the firm.
What you will do
Coordinate active client engagements: manage onboarding and data-access checklists, track phase milestones, prepare weekly status notes and schedule readout reviews.
Prepare and track statements of work (SoWs), mutual NDAs, data processing agreements (DPAs), vendor registration forms and milestone invoicing.
Own capacity planning across our analysts, engineers and advisors so project timelines are realistic and team workload remains balanced.
Run internal practice operations: monthly finance and accounting coordination, supplier management, compliance documentation and quarterly team gatherings.
Maintain and sharpen our internal operating playbooks—from assessment kick-off kits to final handover sign-off packs.
What you bring
Proven experience in delivery management, project operations, practice management or chief-of-staff roles within a technical consultancy, software studio, design practice or B2B services firm.
Exceptional organisational judgement: you spot missing credentials, schedule bottlenecks or scope ambiguity early and resolve them calmly without multiplying meetings.
Strong commercial and administrative literacy—comfortable reading B2B contracts, tracking project budgets, managing multi-currency billing and coordinating with external legal and tax advisors.
Clear, diplomatic written and spoken English; fluency in Spanish or Catalan is a welcome bonus.
Comfort working alongside engineers and analysts without needing to write code yourself.

To apply, email career@16-62.co with your CV and a brief note on how you have structured delivery or operations in a previous team.
Most consultancies hand clients a 90-slide presentation full of filler, or a dashboard crowded with unlabelled gauges. At 16-62, our primary deliverables are written assessment documents, architectural specifications, executive reporting views and our own software interfaces. How a table is aligned, how a reconciliation waterfall is labelled and how a sentence is constructed are core parts of our craft.
We are looking for a practitioner who bridges editorial writing and information design: someone who can interview an engineer about a warehouse schema or an AI workflow, edit the prose until every sentence carries weight, and lay out the accompanying diagrams, tables and interfaces in our strict blue-and-white typographic system.
What you will do
Collaborate with analysts and engineers to structure, edit and typeset written assessment deliverables, metric dictionaries, architecture blueprints and handover runbooks.
Design high-density tables, system diagrams, reconciliation charts and executive briefs that make complex operational data immediately legible.
Design and refine UI screens and print/PDF report layouts for 16-62 Labs and client decision-support tools using Figma and clean HTML/CSS/SVG.
Co-author and edit long-form technical essays and field notes for 16-62 Insights, translating real project lessons into clear prose for COOs, CFOs and technical leaders.
Guard and evolve the 16-62 visual and editorial standard across web pages, document templates and product views.
What you bring
A portfolio showing both sharp technical or editorial writing and restrained, information-dense visual design (editorial publications, financial/research reports, data visualisation or B2B interfaces).
Deep appreciation for grid typography, tabular hierarchy, SVG diagramming and semantic HTML/CSS.
Genuine curiosity about how businesses, financial ledgers and software architectures work—you keep asking questions until a vague claim becomes an exact statement.
Native or near-native command of written English, with an instinct for cutting jargon, qualifiers and corporate clichés.

To apply, email career@16-62.co with your CV, links to 2–3 pieces of writing or design work, and a short note on why this hybrid role fits you.
We do not run high-volume cold outbound or employ commission-driven salespeople who promise things engineers cannot deliver. Our commercial conversations are advisory from the first call: listening to a leadership team describe a reporting discrepancy, a stalled data platform or an operational bottleneck, helping them isolate the decision that matters, and shaping a fixed-scope assessment alongside our technical partners.
As a Client Partner at 16-62, you will work directly with the founders from our Barcelona practice (with remote flexibility) to expand our relationships with mid-market and enterprise organisations—as well as private equity operating teams—with a particular focus on manufacturing, wholesale, commerce, logistics and financial services.
What you will do
Lead commercial conversations from inbound enquiries, client referrals and executive introductions through to signed fixed-scope assessments and multi-phase build programmes.
Co-author clear, specific scoping notes and proposals with our technical leads—setting out boundaries, deliverables, timelines and fixed pricing in plain language.
Build enduring relationships with CFOs, COOs, Heads of Data and Private Equity Operating Partners across DACH, Iberia, the UK, Benelux and the Nordics.
Stay involved at assessment readouts and phase boundaries to ensure the commercial structure always reflects what the client genuinely needs next—including telling a client when not to build.
Represent 16-62 at small executive dinners, industry briefings and through thoughtful commercial writing.
What you bring
Track record of consultative B2B commercial leadership in technical advisory, data & analytics consulting, software engineering services or enterprise B2B SaaS.
Strong commercial literacy: you understand P&L structure, working capital, ERP migrations, post-merger integration and how executive boards evaluate capital spend.
The candour and restraint to recommend a smaller fixed-scope starting point rather than overselling—knowing that trust compounds over multi-year client relationships.
Excellent written and spoken English; professional fluency in German, Spanish or French is a strong advantage.
